Choosing a resort with easy airport access helps you make the most of your Cancun getaway.
At Amàre Cancún, a Curio Collection by HiltonTM hotel, convenience begins with our ideal location. Set at the northern end of the Cancun Hotel Zone, the resort is just 22 km from the airport. In 25-30 minutes, you can go from the terminal right to soaking up the sun on our pristine, sargassum-free beach.
There are several ways to reach Amàre Cancún’s all-inclusive resort. Choose a private transfer, shared shuttle, taxi, rental car, or public transportation. The right option for how to get to the hotel zone from Cancun airport depends on your travel style and schedule.

Cancun International Airport: What to Know
Cancun International Airport (CUN)
Address: Carretera Cancun-Chetumal Km. 22, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico
Telephone: +52 (998) 848-7200
For official airport information, visit the Cancun International Airport website. For directions to the airport, view Cancun International Airport on Google Maps.
Private Transfers: The Seamless Choice
A private transfer is one of the easiest ways to start your vacation. Book in advance and step off the plane knowing your car is ready and waiting.
Rates range from $25–$50 USD one-way or $50-$90 USD round-trip, depending on the provider, vehicle size, and number of passengers.
Taxis: A Classic Option
Official airport taxis are available from Cancun Airport to the Cancun hotel zone. Fares start at around $45 USD to the Hotel Zone, but you can enjoy significant savings if you pre-book online. Use the official airport taxi provider fare calculator tool to calculate your exact fare and make a reservation.
Taxis must be pre-booked to ensure you use an authorized provider. It is strongly discouraged to hail a taxi without using the official taxi service. Walk-up rides are often offered by providers operating illegally, leaving you unprotected in the event of a fare dispute.
Each terminal in the airport has an official transportation desk. When you arrive, stop at the information desk, and they can tell you where to meet your taxi driver.
Each official Cancun Airport taxi must display a permit badge in the windshield, and drivers must wear their Cancun Airport ID badge and uniform. If you don’t see these, don’t get in the taxi.

Shared Shuttles: Affordable and Convenient
Shared shuttles are another way to transfer from the Cancun Airport to the hotel zone.
Shuttles typically cost around $10-20 USD per person for a one-way trip. Pickup location varies depending on which provider and terminal, but shuttles typically meet in the open-air lots outside of each arrival hall. Drivers will be staged outside with a card displaying your name. You can view and book shuttle services on the Cancun Airport website.
Because you share the shuttle with other travelers, the ride may take a little longer. Shared shuttles can be a good option for solo travelers or smaller groups. For larger groups, a private transfer may offer better value.
Rental Cars: Freedom to Explore
If a car rental is more your speed, there are several rental car companies located at the airport. A rental car gives you the freedom to explore if you want to venture beyond the city.
Most of the major providers, such as Enterprise, Hertz, Sixt, and Alamo, have locations at Cancun airport, along with many local providers. Rental agencies are typically open 24/7 to accommodate arrivals and departures.
Where you pick up your vehicle will depend on the company. Some of the larger companies have a desk inside each terminal. Others may require a short, complimentary shuttle.
However, many guests find they don’t need a rental car at Amàre Cancún. Our resort offers so many ways to enjoy your stay, from Michelin-starred Chef-curated dining to culturally inspired experiences and events.
Our team can also arrange transportation for tours or local excursions. You can dive into Cancun’s culture without worrying about rental car logistics.

Public Transportation: A Budget-Friendly Option
Public transportation is the most affordable way to travel from the airport. You can take a bus from the airport to downtown Cancun, then transfer within the hotel zone.
ADO provides service from the airport tothe Hotel Zone, with fares starting at approximately $10 USD per passenger. Tickets are available for purchase at ADO kiosks in terminals, and you can board at any terminal. Buses run on a 30-minute schedule. You can check ADO’s current schedules and fares before your trip.
The bus will take you directly to the Punta Cancun bus terminal, with no stops at hotels or other locations. From there, you can take the public R1 bus line to the Playa Langosta stop. This option can save money, but requires more time and planning and may be less convenient if you have a lot of luggage.
Tips for a Smooth Airport Arrival
A little preparation can make your arrival in Cancun easier. Here are our top tips for a smooth airport arrival:
- Book your transportation before your trip whenever possible.
- Share your flight details with your transportation provider so they can monitor your arrival and adjust for any delays.
- Keep your hotel address and transportation details saved on your phone.
After you land, collect your luggage and clear customs before leaving the terminal. Most drivers wait in the transportation area outside. However, it’s best to confirm pickup location, driver information, and a meeting point before takeoff.
